INTRODUCTION
Tashkent Medical University, Overview
On July 19, 2005, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan founded the Tashkent Medical Academy. Initially, the academy offered faculties in General Medicine, Pedagogy, and Nursing, with a total student capacity of 4,662. Currently, the institute trains approximately 765 postgraduates and 205 physicians. The MBBS program at Tashkent Medical Academy focuses on producing highly skilled professionals through 58 specialized departments and extensive clinical training. Under an environmental and human health grant, the institute has implemented a program for “Coordination and Monitoring of Research Work.” Additionally, the academy hosts seven distinct scientific councils.
COURSE & ELIGIBILITY
Courses and Eligibility for Indian Students at Tashkent Medical Academy
1. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- Eligibility:
- Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 12 from a recognized board.
- Must have appeared for and passed the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).
- Age limit: Usually between 17 and 25 years.
2. Postgraduate Programs
- Eligibility:
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a compulsory internship.
- Must meet specific requirements set by the academy for various specializations.
3. Ph.D. Programs
- Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- A strong academic record and relevant research experience may be required.
4. Nursing and Allied Health Sciences
- Eligibility:
- For undergraduate courses: Minimum 50% in Class 12 with Biology as a subject.
- For postgraduate courses: Relevant bachelor’s degree in nursing or allied health sciences.
5. Pedagogy Programs
- Eligibility:
- Undergraduate degree in education or a related field.
- Relevant academic and professional qualifications as specified by the academy.
